CKTB News, formerly 610 CKTB, is expanding its local coverage with a refreshed brand, a broader regional focus, and a new FM-HD signal that strengthens how listeners access the station.
The refreshed identity marks the next chapter for a station rooted in local reporting, live conversation, and the communities it serves. It gives CKTB News more room to grow across radio, digital, and streaming.
That growth begins with expanded coverage in Hamilton, introducing a trusted voice into a market that has lacked a dedicated local news radio source since 2024.
Beginning July 2, 102.9 FM-HD2 will simulcast CKTB News, offering an enhanced digital audio experience alongside the station’s existing 610 AM broadcast.

The Niagara region remains central to who we are, and now we have an opportunity to bring that same level of attention and care to Hamilton and beyond. We want listeners to hear their own communities reflected back to them. That’s why local news matters.”
That wider lens will be heard across the station’s programming, including the newly rebranded Steph Vivier in the Morning. Listeners will still get local, national, and global news, along with sports, traffic, and weather. The difference is a broader local focus, with Hamilton stories included alongside St. Catharines and Niagara coverage.
