JOY Radio refreshes lineup as it expands onto FM-HD

With a stronger balance of music, conversation, and faith-based content, JOY Radio is introducing a new lineup beginning June 1 that’s more consistent and easier to come back to throughout the day. The station remains rooted in the hope and encouragement of its ministry.

At the centre of the change is an expanded and reimagined start to your day. Mornings with James Kurtis airs live from the JOY studios, featuring more of today’s best Christian music. This fresh path carries across the full schedule, with more uplifting music than ever before. Spiritual conversations and moments of reflection are more clearly woven into the lineup, bringing a greater sense of consistency from morning to night.

“We’ve heard from listeners about the important role music plays in their day-to-day lives,” said Hollie Taylor, Station Manager and Program Director of JOY Radio. “As we strive to meet them wherever they are, spiritually and physically, we’re enhancing our digital experience, including FM-HD, so we can be present with them throughout their day. It’s all about supporting their faith journey and creating space for God to speak into their lives.”

The changes arrive as JOY expands onto 102.9 FM-HD3, adding another way for listeners to access the station alongside joyradio.ca, the MyJoyRadio app, and streaming platforms like iHeartRadio and TuneIn. It marks the next step in JOY’s move toward a digital-first experience, shaped around how and where people listen.

That direction is already showing results. Over the last fiscal quarter, JOY Radio’s streaming hours increased by nearly 20 per cent, as more listeners continue to spend time with the station through digital platforms.

“As JOY Radio enters its 25th year, we’re focused on growing with our audience as listening habits continue to change,” said Matt Caine, President of Whiteoaks Communications Group. “FM-HD and digital audio provide a clear path forward. Radio remains one of the most trusted environments, and through the Holy Spirit, we believe that connection can change lives. It’s what continues to drive our partnerships, growth, and commitment to the communities we serve.”

The updated lineup and expanded access better serve faith-driven adults whose lives centre around family, community, and personal growth. The station is a local Christian voice across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area, reflecting the culture, values, and everyday experiences of the communities it serves.

Beginning June 1, listeners can hear JOY Radio’s new lineup on 102.9 FM-HD3 and other digital platforms.
