Niagara rallies together to reach fundraising goal for Help Kids Shine

The Niagara community has once again stepped up for local children and families.

Proudly supported by 610 CKTB, Dream 105.7, and 97.7 HTZ-FM, the annual Help Kids Shine campaign has surpassed its fundraising goal, raising $387,617 for Niagara Children’s Centre.

The results were announced this week by Pam Sharp, Director of Development at Niagara Children’s Centre, who joined Steph Vivier in the Morning to thank the community for its support and share the campaign’s final total.

Funds raised through Help Kids Shine support programs and services across Niagara, including Recreation Therapy, Behaviour Support Therapy, and Family Support.

“Every dollar raised helps children and families access the therapies, supports, equipment, and connections they need to be their best,” said Niagara Children’s Centre CEO Noella Klawitter. “We are incredibly grateful to this community for once again stepping up in such a meaningful way.”

Help Kids Shine has become an annual tradition across Niagara, bringing together listeners, donors, volunteers, and community partners in support of the Niagara Children’s Centre. Throughout the campaign, Whiteoaks stations shared stories from families, interviewed staff and supporters, and helped raise awareness of the Centre’s work across Niagara.

Among this year’s fundraising efforts is Help Soper & Brown Float, which has already raised nearly $15,000 for Help Kids Shine. Listener donations continue as Soper & Brown embark on a journey across the Trent-Severn Waterway, broadcasting live along the way. The initiative follows last year’s award-winning Make Carl Drive campaign, which earned national recognition at the Canadian Radio Awards.

While the final total exceeded this year’s goal, the impact of Help Kids Shine will continue long after the campaign ends. The funds raised will help ensure children and families across Niagara can access the therapies, equipment, programs, and support they need.
